Reviews progress on Committee’s earlier directions, recommendations

JAMMU, DECEMBER 11 (KNO) : A meeting of the Committee on Environment of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly was held here today under the Chairmanship of MLA, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami to discuss the consolidation of Committee report, 2017-18. The Committee reviewed the progress on the issues projected and discussed in its earlier meetings held for different departments besides taking stock of the outcome of various on spot inspections conducted by the Committee. It also reviewed the status of steps and action taken up by the concerned departments on the directions and recommendations of the Committee. Legislators, Usman Abdul Majid, Pawan Kumar Gupta, Mohammad Yousuf Bhat, Ch. Mohammad Akram, Bashir Ahmed Dar and Aijaz Ahmad Mir attended the meeting. The Committee expressed dismay over non-submission of replies by the concerned departments which have already been discussed by the Committee in its previous meetings. It directed the concerned departments to submit their reply as early as possible so that finalization of report of the Committee would be prepared accordingly. Among others, Additional Secretary Assembly, Naseem Jan, Deputy Secretary, Assembly, Abdul Qayoom Mir and other senior officers and officials of Assembly Secretariat department attended the meeting.(KNO)
